Bringing Home the Beauty of Functionality

Kolkata's own ethnic milieu

This design was created for a family of three who wanted to incorporate a minimalist, functional, and stylish foyer into their home. The foyer was designed to serve as a hub for organizing everyday items and sporting equipment, while also providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The design features a Scandinavian theme, with clean lines, light and neutral color palettes, and natural materials like wood and textured paint.

Prapti Fashions was established in 1985 and since then it has become one of the foremost ethnic wear fashion brands in India. Their exclusive range of fashionable traditional attire, simply referred to as ‘Prapti’, is retailed across the country by company owned outlets. Brand boasts of decades of mastery in traditional as well as sarees inspired from all Indian culture which is very strongly woven with religious beliefs that are interpreted in exquisite art and architecture in temples in the region. The Company has its headquarters in Kolkata, also popularly known as India’s culture capital. The beauty and aesthetic appeal of Kolkata’s creative milieu is an inspiration for their fashion line.

The Heart of the Home

This design project was created for a family of three and features a minimalist, functional and stylish Scandinavian-inspired foyer. The foyer serves as a hub for organizing everyday items and sporting equipment and has a warm and inviting atmosphere with a color palette of brown, white, wood, and grey textured paint. The design incorporates clean lines, natural materials like wood, and a long floor-to-ceiling mirror to reflect light and create the illusion of more space. The result is a beautiful and functional foyer that showcases the designer's ability to incorporate a specific design style and create a cohesive look and feel throughout the space.

Designing a Living Room of Effortless Elegance

This living room design features a minimalist approach with a focus on functionality and style. The TV unit provides ample storage and the grey sofa adds to the overall aesthetic. The color palette of grey, wood, white, and black creates a harmonious and cohesive look, while the minimal artwork and accessories complement the space. The designer showcases an understanding of how to use color, texture, and accessories to create a stylish and functional living room that meets the client's needs.

A Serene Invitation

This kitchen design embodies the essence of Scandinavian minimalism, with a focus on functionality and a timeless aesthetic. This master bedroom design is a sophisticated and stylish take on the classic Scandinavian aesthetic. The color palette of warm browns and calming greys is a timeless choice, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. The focal point of the room is the elegant bed, which is perfectly complemented by the Aristo sliding wardrobe. A dresser space with a pouffe provides a comfortable and convenient place to get ready, while the false ceiling with a emphasized center adds depth and texture to the room. The attention to detail and understanding of the Scandinavian style is evident in this beautiful and functional master bedroom.

Soar to New Heights

The kids' room is a whimsical and playful space inspired by hot air balloons, with a light pink, custard white, and teal green color palette that creates a cheerful and inviting atmosphere. The study space in this room is designed with practicality in mind, featuring vertical wall paneling and curved wall storage that maximizes the use of space.

A Harmonious Blend of Color and Texture

The guest bedroom, on the other hand, is sophisticated and elegant with a green stucco marble texture paint on the walls and a classic black and white Aristo sliding wardrobe. The dresser is conveniently placed opposite the bed, and the circular mirror adds a touch of style and functionality. The use of gray wall paint at the bottom of the room balances out the bold green stucco, creating a harmonious and cohesive look.
